My research focuses on expanding our understanding of literacies within second and foreign language education. This work investigates how digital technologies, multimodal communication, and critical approaches reshape language learning, teaching, and identity, with a consistent commitment to fostering social justice and advocacy. Often rooted in the Global South, my scholarship explores critical areas such as gaming literacies, urban literacies, and the development of culturally sustaining academic practices, aiming to bridge theory with transformative pedagogical praxis.
